"Bang" is a great name for this fragrance, because it starts off with an explosion of black pepper, like having a jar of peppercorns thrown in your face! I love pepper notes in fragrances, but the smell rarely lasts very long. Bang is brilliantly composed because as the pepper notes fade, sharp pine notes take over seamlessly, as if the pepper never disappeared. The same goes for the pine notes, which smoothly give way to incense and patchouli in the final stages.
If you love dry, peppery or coniferous wood scents, then you're almost certain to like Bang. I love every stage of this scent: the big pepper blast, the crisp pine notes, and of course the dusty patchouli. It's satisfying to the very end, especially because the patchouli and incense are so airy and tranparent. Though it's not a sillage machine, it has good longevity on my skin, which is about 8 or 9 hours.
I tried Bang when it first came out about a year ago, when it was pretty expensive. Since then, it's been relegated to the bargain bins at places like TJ Maxx, but don't hold that against the fragrance. The big drop in price just meant that I was able to justify buying a full bottle, as well as a backup.
