Bentley For Men

Bentley For Men is the best fragrance I have smelled in the last ten years.  Yes, it is that good.

This is a glorious boozy, woody oriental crafted to perfection.  I don't want to say this is niche quality, because I like it better than any niche fragrance I've smelled.  You get a beautiful blast of sweet rum, spices, leather and woody notes in the opening, which is spectacular.  These colorful olfactory fireworks do mellow out in the drydown, but their remnants remain in a more muted, but no less beautiful, form for hours.  The overall sense of quality whiskey blended with leather and wood remains throughout its development, always smooth, luxurious and elegant.  There is apparently no oud in Bentley For Men, but this fragrance has a dark, smoldering woody backdrop that adds complexity and intrigue to this remarkable, mysterious potion.  The drydown reminds me of M7 by Yves Saint Laurent.

Bentley For Men is both sexy and formal.  It is very masculine, but it would also make a dynamite scent for women.  Women should have no hesitation in wearing this.  Most reviews say this is a fragrance best suited for an older, more worldly man, but I can't quite agree with that.  Bentley For Men is extremely versatile: it has the leather and wood notes that a lot of older guys tend to like, but it has a spicy sweetness that I could easily see a young guy wearing very convincingly.  Literally anyone could pull this fragrance off with conviction.

This is now one of my all time favorites, and it deserves a perfect score.

MY RATING:  10/10

  1. Have you tried the Intense version??

  2. I have not. It seems like that is the one that gets all the attention, while the EDT is almost ignored.

  3. Fantastic blog! Do you have any recommendations for aspiring writers? I'm hoping to start my own site soon but I'm a little lost on everything. Would you propose starting with a free platform like Wordpress or go for a paid option? There are so many options out there that I'm completely confused .. Any tips? Thank you!

  4. I love Bentley as well, and if you haven't tried it yet, Bentley for Men Absolute (pitch black bottle) is a nod to Gucci Pour Homme. Good stuff!

  6. BFM is great. The Intense is as good, perhaps a little too rich, but just as well composed and balanced. I second what John said above, the Absolute is a must try and blind but worthy

  7. Shamu1... You made me think twice about buying the EDT. The Intense version sucks in my opinion.
